Fr. Michael Peterson, OSB - Chair

Originally from Morris, Minnesota, Father Michael Peterson became a monk at Blue Cloud Abbey in Marvin, South Dakota in 1996.

He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Saint John’s School of Theology Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 2006. Father Michael served as Novice Master and Formation Director of Blue Cloud Abbey until the monasteryʹs closing in 2012, when he transferred his Benedictine vows to Saint Johnʹs Abbey in Collegeville.

He currently serves as Oblate Director for Saint Johnʹs Abbey and as Chaplain for Campus Ministry at the College of Saint Benedict. He regularly leads retreats and conferences, serves in many pastoral assignments throughout the Diocese of St. Cloud, and serves as Chairman of the Board of  Monastic Interreligious Dialogue.
