Patricia Crowley, O.S.B. is a member and former prioress of The Benedictine Sisters of Chicago at St. Scholastica Monastery in Chicago and former president of the Conference of Benedictine Prioresses. A native Chicagoan, she worked with the homeless most of her professional life. She currently works in immigration as well as in retreat work with women who have been homeless and in spiritual direction.
She founded, with 8 other women religious, Bethany House of Hospitality which offers housing and support services to young immigrant women as they journey to independence. These young women have come alone as unaccompanied minors. When they turn 18, if they have no alternative, they are taken to adult detention. Seven of the first nine young women are Muslim and have come from Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Eritrea.
Sister Patricia participated in a week long conference at The Islamic Center in London in the spring of 2016.
